Amber's House of Dance

Kelly has danced seven of her nine year dance career with HOD. She was a member of the WMS Dance Team for three years and the WAHS Dance Team for four, serving as Captain her senior year. She has been a member of the HOD All Stars for four years. Kelly will be attending East Carolina University next year pursuing a Nursing Degree with hopes of becoming a pediatric nurse nurse. She has also been selected to dance with the ECU Dance Team.

“I consider dance to be a true blessing in my life, always serving as my outlet from the ‘real world’ and the challenges that I have faced. I honestly cannot imagine what my life would be like without dance. It’s not only my passion, but it is something I know I can count on to cheer me up after a bad day. Dancing has truly impacted my life in ways that I never imagined were possible. It has become a part of me and who I am as a person, and that will never change.”

“First, I would like to thank my parents who have taught me so much about life and raised me to always be kind, caring and giving towards others, and to love with all of my heart; never doubting of me, and for always supporting my dreams with dance, and everything else. I was truly blessed with the most loving parents who have made me into the person I am today. Mom and Dad, you are more than my parents, you are my best friends and I love you so much! Thanks to my younger brothers who never complained about long recitals and competitions they were forced to sit through over the years and for little notes left in my room before dance team tryouts, I love you both. Thank you to Grandma Jessie who was the most caring and kind-hearted woman I even knew, teaching me to give to others and to believe in myself. I hope to be half the woman she was one day. Grandma, you will always be in my heart and I will always love you. Lastly, thank you to Ms. Amber. Over the years, Amber has been way more than a dance teacher to me. She has been a friend who has never doubted my abilities and has pushed me to be the dancer I am today. Amber has taught me everything I know about dance and so many things about life. She has been there for me through hard and difficult times over the years. I have been so blessed to have such an
amazing person as my dance teacher and coach for so many years. I love you, Ms Amber, and I will always remember the things you have taught me”...Kelly
