“Dance is expression of a person’s own unique style; a way of expressing their inner world. I learned early in life I could share all my inner emotions through dance. Dancers tell remarkable stories without speaking a single word. I fell in love with this powerful form of expression at the age of four and it has become my undying passion ever since. Though demanding, dance allows me to escape the stress of daily life and step into a world where nothing else matters; a world where I can let go of all my inhibitions and just have fun. Whether I am alone in a room or in front of a crowd, I always dance for myself, because at the end of the day, I am the only person I need to please. Dance is an expression of me I am allowed to share with others one song at a time. Without dance, this part of me would otherwise remain in my thoughts and dreams.”

“I would like to thank Grandma Hall for her support in the very beginning by
providing transportation to dance classes and making dance possible. Without her, my love for dance would have never grown to the passion it is today. Thanks to Grandma Workman for the time she spent altering many costumes I used through the year. To my parents, thank you for your dedication by shouldering the expense of classes and
competitions, participating in fundraisers and sitting through countless performances.
You have truly been there for me and I love you both. Thanks also to the many
choreographers I have had the privilege to work with who have helped me become the ambitious dancer I am today”…Melanie
