Amber's House of Dance

Shannon started dancing 14 years ago and has danced the last seven with HOD. She was a
member of the WMS Dance Team for two years and has been a member of the WAHS
Dance Team for the last four years. She also performed with the high school dance
company. Shannon will attend UNC-Greensboro in the fall where she will pursue an Early
Education and Teaching major.

“Dance has meant a moment to escape into the music and be who I am, who I want to be,
and who I can become. Without dance, I’m no one; with it, I can be just about anything.”

“First, God for giving the talent and patience to learn such a gift. Secondly, my family and
friends - without them I’d have no fans to keep me trying and willing to grow better. Lastly,
Amber and my fellow seniors - without any of ya’ll in my life I would not have been able to
push myself to be the dancer I am today. I’ve learned so much just being in classes with you
all and it’s an honor to be on stage with you. I wish each of you the best of luck in your
future and never forget who you are and when you came from. And Amber, I love you - you
